WSET Level 1 Award in Wines
This qualification provides a basic introduction to the main styles of wines to amateurs or front line staff involved in the service or sale of wine. The qualification aims to provide the basic product knowledge and skills in the storage and service of wines required to prepare a person for their first job in wine hospitality or retail. It includes advice on food and wine pairing. Wine Unpicked offers Wine and Spirit Education Trust (WSET) level 1 in Wines training course that provides a basic introduction to the main styles of wines on sale in both the on and off trade. The course aims to provide basic wine knowledge and skills in the storage and service of wines, together with elementary food and wine pairing. Participants will take part in six hours of guided learning, and sit a forty-five minute multi-choice exam, over one day. Wine tasting is included in the class. This course assumes no prior knowledge, and is ideal for those starting to explore the world of wine, or wishing to pursue a career in the wine retail or catering and hospitality industries. The course fee of £130.00 per person covers tuition fees, the WSET textbook, all wine tasting samples, use of ISO tasting glasses and the exam entry fee. No discounts are available on the fee, however re-sit exams, if required, are offered at £55. The course fee does not include any lunch or refreshments, which may be obtained from the on-site café at Shelley Theatre, Beechwood Avenue, Bournemouth BH5 1LX or other nearby outlets. |

WSET Level 2 Award in Wines & Spirits
This qualification offers a broad coverage of all product categories in the field of alcoholic drinks, together with the theory of tasting technique. It delves in more detail into the way different wines and spirits are made, and how this affects their style, and covers the major wine producing grapes of the world. Little previous knowledge is required. Wine Unpicked offers Wine and Spirit Education Trust (WSET) level 2 in Wines and Spirits training course that focuses on the influence of grape variety, climate and wine making, and styles of wines produced around the world. The course covers sparkling, sweet and fortified wines and introduces the subject of spirits. Participants will take part in eight two-hour sessions, and sit a one hour multi-choice exam, either over three days or nine evening sessions. Wine or spirit tasting is included in every class. Successful students gain the Level 2 Award in Wines & Spirits Certificate issued by WSET.

WSET Level 3 Award in Wines
The level 3 Award in Wines gives a more comprehensive coverage of the wines of the world. The course has a particular focus on the major wine producing countries, and how climatic, geographical and winemaking factors influence wine styles. It is recommended that candidates have passed the Level 2 award before embarking on this course. Wine Unpicked offers Wine and Spirit Education Trust (WSET) level 3 in Wines training course that explores in detail the principal styles of wines produced around the world, including sparkling, sweet and fortified wines. Participants will take part in fifteen two-hour sessions, and sit a two and a half hour exam that includes a tasting paper, multiple choice questions and questions requiring short written answers. The course takes place over six days, including the time devoted to the exam. Course dates are detailed on our website, www.wineunpicked.com. Students should also allow for around fifty hours of personal study, in addition to the thirty hours of tutored study. Wine tasting is included in every class. Successful students gain the Level 3 Award in Wines Certificate issued by WSET.

CANCELLATIONS:
- One month before commencement will be refunded 90% of the fee paid.
- Between one month and two weeks before commencement will be refunded 75% of the fee.
- Less than two weeks before commencement will have no refund, unless documentary evidence of exceptional circumstances is provided, when 75% of the fee will be refunded.
- 100% refund will be given if Wine Unpicked cancels the course.
